Marevivo ‘Adopt A Beach’ Campaign

Our RESPONSE partners at Polytechnic University of Marche (UNIVPM) are participating in awareness campaigns with the non-profit Marevivo to deepen scientific studies on the environmental fate and the risk of microplastics for marine organisms. As part of UNIVPM’s actions, they have adopted Trave Beach, Conero Promontory in Ancona. This site was selected for participatory actions as it not only plays host to priority habitats but also due to to the passive accumulation of plastic waste and other debris that is deposited due to storm surges and currents along the coast. Our RESPONSE coordinator Prof. Francesco REGOLI (UNIVPM) is also a member of the Marevivo scientific committee.

Marevivo is a non-profit environmental organisation that has spent the last 35 years campaigning to protect our seas and resources, and runs a number of initiatives and awareness campaigns to help educate the public about the threats to our marine environments.
